EPPING, NH – The Seacoast United Development Academy hosted the New York Red Bulls Academy teams in Epping, NH on Saturday, May 14th with the U17/18’s kicking off first. The Red Bulls came out strong from the start, instantly putting pressure on net. However, Seacoast United was prepared and kept the their opponent scoreless for almost the entire first half.
Both Seacoast United and the Red Bulls had multiple opportunities on net, keeping the game at a high intensity. The Red Bulls ended the first half with a 1-0 advantage, however, 20 minutes into the second half Seacoast tied it up with a goal scored by striker Abdulkadir Haji. As the game continued Red Bulls scored again late in the 2nd half. Seacoast remained strong in the Red Bulls defensive half in the closing minutes with various attempts on goal. Seacoast looked to have equalized with a minute to go, but the goal was ruled to be no good, resulting in a 2-1 loss for Seacoast United.
It was a hard fought game for the U17/18’s and the U15/16 team knew they were going to have their hands full as well. The U15/16’s finished their match with a 1-1 tie against the Red Bulls, goal scored by Noah Stracqualursi.
After two consecutive home games, Seacoast United Development Academy will be back on the road this Saturday, May 21st at Beachside SC. First game starts at 10:00am in Connecticut.
