Seacoast United U15/16 and U17/18 US Soccer Development Academy Teams Head to Sarasota FL Showcase
May 12, 2009
Our U15/16 and U17/18 USSDA teams are preparing for the US Soccer spring showcase being held May 22-26 at the Sarasota Polo Grounds in Sarasota, FL. They will be playing 3 games over the 4 day weekend. The 3 teams they will be up against are Solar SC (Dallas TX), CASA (OH), and San Diego Surf (CA).
On their non-game day the teams will be taking part in SPARQ testing.
Development Academy Showcases provide a national platform for Academy teams to play league matches against non-conference opponents. The Showcases also provide Academy players with exposure to US Soccer Best Practices and additional educational programming, such as SPARQ testing, Hydration and Nutrition Guidelines and ProZone analysis as well as coaching education opportunities.
The Showcase events have also proven to be successful platforms for player identification. Every game is scouted by a Development Academy Scout as well as many of the nation’s top college coaches.
