The Seacoast United Boys’ Academy will be embarking on a new era this season when they kick-off their league campaign in the brand-new MLS Next league. The youth soccer landscape has experienced a lot of change and nowhere was that more apparent than when the US Development Academy, of which Seacoast United was a founding member, closed its doors back in May. AALIYAH FARID: MOROCCO NATIONAL

One of our very own Development Academy players, Aaliyah Farid, has been selected to play for the U20 Women's National Morocco Team. Aaliyah is one of four U.S. selectees on the team, and is already in the process of training with her new teammates. The goal of the Moroccan national program is to compete for both the World Cup qualification and the African Cup qualification. The national team has just completed a week of training and friendly matches in Morocco, as they prepare for their first game on March 22nd in Algeria.

The Girls’ Winter Cup is right around the corner and our Development Academy teams will soon be making the journey down to Florida. The Winter Cup will be held from December 9th – 14th in Lakewood Ranch, located just south of Tampa. 

The Winter Cup serves as the perfect platform for talent identification.  All players participating in the DA have the opportunity to be seen by U.S. Soccer National Team scouts as well as college coaches and scouts at all DA games. The highly anticipated Development Academy Cup Winter Showcase Draw was held last week, with the Seacoast U17 & U19 Boys DA Teams excited to get down to Florida and compete against some of the country’s elite programs.

After winning the Northeast Conference this Fall, the U17s advance to the next round of the Cup and as expected will face some fierce competition. First up is a game against Bethesda SC (MD) who advanced from a strong conference, which included the likes of New York City FC, New England Revolution & Philadelphia Union.
