EPPING, NH – Tournaments, championship finals and tryouts will all be taking place throughout the month of June in what is historically a very busy month for not only Seacoast United, but youth soccer as a whole. As one season comes to a close, the preparation for the next season looms with the start of club tryouts across the region. With that, the Seacoast United Academy teams know that this is the business end of the season and the next few weeks will determine whether or not they will be competing in the playoffs later in the month.
The Girls Academy teams enjoyed a break over Memorial Day and are raring to go this weekend when they head down to the Empire State for a weekend doubleheader; New York Soccer Club on Saturday followed by Long Island Soccer on Sunday. Both the players and coaches are looking to bounce back after a couple tough matches against divisional rivals New England Football Club and Girls Academy Director Chris Scott knows what is expected of the teams. “The girls are improving every single day and there has been a lot of work put in these past couple of weeks in preparation for our trip to New York.” Scott went on to say, “Our teams are competing against some of the best talent in the region and it’s great to see our players performing at the highest level.”
The Boys’ MLS Next teams will stay here in the Granite State when they welcome Blau Weiss Gottschee to Bedford. The majority of the teams are still in playoff contention so both the players and staff will be looking to finish these next couple of weeks on a high. Boys Academy Director Peter Decker stated, “Everything comes down to the wire these last couple of weeks and it’s amazing to see that our teams across the board are still in contention.” Decker went on to say, “After last weekend’s break, we are ready for Gottschee.”
