SEACOAST UNITED IN THE BIG APPLE

SEACOAST UNITED IN THE BIG APPLE

In the wee hours of the morning on Saturday, December 8th, two buses departed Hampton, NH and made their way to New York City for the NBC Sports/Premier League Fan Fest. Over 100 Seacoast United families and friends arrived at Pier 17 in the Seaport District (Manhattan) to be the first in line for the event.

The venue was very impressive as Pier 17 was suspended over the East River.  The panoramic views of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge made the whole New York scene that much more authentic. NBC Sports and the Premier League took what was once an empty warehouse space and converted it into a Premier League fan’s dream complete with turf pitches, FIFA 19 playing stations, official merchandise areas and even the Premier League trophy. The event took place from 6:00am to 5:00pm and Seacoast United had full access to everything. Each Premier League club had their own supporters present to take part in various watch parties over the course of the day.

Seacoast United was there on behalf of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club when they took on Burnley Football Club at 10:00am. Although the Seagulls were narrowly defeated in a close 1-0 match, the group thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was able to take photos with Brighton mascots Gully and Sally the Seagull, and everyone left with Brighton fanfare.

“Today has been nothing short of superb”, said President & CEO Paul Willis. “Of course we would have liked to have seen Brighton secure a win but overall we couldn’t have asked for a better day out in New York City.  To have 100 families leave Hampton at 1:00am shows you how much of an interest people have in the Premier League.”
