NEW CASTLE, NH - Seacoast United just wrapped up the month of February by hosting a successful soccer “Club to Club” Summit at the historic Wentworth By The Sea Hotel & Marina. Over 30 competitive Clubs from across New England as well as other states such as California, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan and Texas took part in the three day symposium from February 24th-26th. Scottish Premier League side St. Mirren also sent a representative over to see how clubs operate in the USA and learn about the growth of soccer in America.
While many courses exist for coaches in terms of developing players, the goal of the summit was to help clubs improve their operations and ideas on how to grow. Most of the clubs sent a combination of their Presidents, Director of Coaching, and Executive Directors to gain insight from those in attendance. Members of Seacoast United and guest presenters discussed twelve topics including ‘Developing Indoor and Outdoor Facilities’, ‘Improving Communications through Social Media’ and ‘Developing a Club Identity On and Off the Field’.
David Suvak, Technical Director for the New England Rush and head women’s coach at Emerson College commented, “Seacoast United assembled a quality group of people to discuss each topic on the agenda. I was happy to be involved with many of the top end clubs from New England and throughout the US. I enjoyed my three days of learning with everyone and will certainly be discussing many of the topics with our board and coaching staff."
This is the second year in a row Seacoast United has hosted the Club to Club Summit in the area and the event has attracted attendees from over 20 States.
