Seacoast United Hosts Outdoor Soccer Tournament Despite Winter Conditions

EPPING, NH - Over the weekend of March 1st and 2nd, Seacoast United hosted the first of its series of four outdoor soccer tournaments at the Club’s Outdoor Complex in Epping, NH.  The U15-U18 Boys Showcase hosted 56 soccer teams from across New England who travelled to New Hampshire to play three games each in preparation for their upcoming spring seasons.

All four fields at the soccer complex are Field Turf, which is the same playing surface as Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA, home of the New England Patriots. Seacoast United staff work throughout the winter staying on top of the storms and inclement weather in an effort to keep the fields playable and attract other clubs to the region.

“Everyone expects our teams to travel south, and by hosting events at our Epping complex it allows Seacoast United players the much needed opportunity to get outside early and have good competition on home soil… turf,” commented Chris Scott, Director of Tournaments.

An additional benefit to the series of tournaments is the amount of teams who travel to the region and utilize local hotels, restaurants, and area businesses.

“This is our community and we want to do as much as we can to support SUSC players on the field and many of the local businesses off the field,” added Seacoast United President Paul Willis.

Upcoming weekend soccer events in March include the U15-U18 Girls Showcase, Girls U11-U14 Premier Invitational, and the Boys U11-U14 Premier Invitational tournaments.
