BRUNSWICK, ME - Seacoast United’s WPSL team earned its first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over the Maine Tide.  Seacoast is now 1-3-1 on the season while the loss drops the Tide to 0-5-0.

The Tide made adjustments at the break and started the 2nd half pressing forward.  The strategy worked, as they were able to capitalize on a communication mishap when Tide midfielder Hannah Breton (University of Maine) caught Seacoast keeper Jen Nichols (Ryder University/Stratham, NH) off her line and brought her team within 1.

Seacoast bounced back however, and took control of the game from there.  In the 17th minute, Caroline Boyce (SUSC/Canterbury, NH) assisted on a Kaleigh Roberge (Southern NH University/Manchester, NH) blast from 20 yds out, giving Seacoast the 3-1 lead.  Just three minutes later, Roberge struck again on a goal almost identical to her first.

The win is Seacoast United’s first as part of the WPSL.  Their next match is Saturday, June 26th on the road vs. the Boston Aztec Breakers Reserves at Progin Park in Lancaster, MA.  Kickoff is scheduled for 2pm.  Seacoast’s next home game is Friday, July 9th vs. Boston 23’s.
