The home team got on the board early, when Shayla Bergeron cut around the oncoming goalkeeper after receiving a pass from Lauren Triglione in the 6th minute.  The Phantoms would extend the lead to 2-0 in the 27th minute as Rachel Hill’s shot beat the Mariners keeper low to the left side to hit the inside of the post before crossing the goal line.

The Mariners were able to cut the lead in half just 4 minutes later as Pavlina Nepokojova received the ball with her back to goal, turned and blasted a shot over the head of Phantoms keeper Emily Harris.

In the 2nd half, the two teams would trade scoring opportunities, as Mariners' striker Shelbi Vienna-Hallam broke through in the 60th minute to equalize at 2-2.

Seacoast United Phantoms would fight back against a very strong and physical opponent. After some great combinations through the midfield and patience in the attacking third, Michele Tremblay put her team ahead 3-2 in the 72nd minute on a beautiful shot from the left side beating the keeper high into the far corner of the net.

Just three minutes later, Vienna-Hallam would collide with Harris as she came forward to catch the ball jarring the ball loose and into the goal as Mariners evened the score once again at 3-3.

In the closing minutes, the Phantoms would continue to push forward to find the game winner.  In the 90th minute, Seacoast United forced Mariners goalkeeper Megan Manley to save a header from a corner kick leading to a scramble in the box that would see the ball cleared off the line by a Mariner defender at the post. However, Hill would find the rebound and score the 4-3 game winner with just seconds remaining on the clock.

This afternoon’s victory wrapped up a busy week for the Seacoast United Phantoms women, where they played 3 matches in a span of 5 days.  They were able to extend their unbeaten streak to 5 games, outscoring their opponents 7-3 during that timeframe.

The Phantoms are back in action on Thursday, June 11th when they travel to Massachusetts to face Boston Breakers College Academy (2-1), 7:30pm start.  Their next home game is Wednesday, June 17th when they host the Boston Breakers Reserves at the club’s Outdoor Complex in Epping, NH at 6pm.
