Brewster Signs USL Pro Contract With Tulsa

March 2015

Former Seacoast United Phantoms defender Ben Brewster will continue his soccer career at the professional level, signing a contract with the Tulsa Roughnecks FC for the 2015 season.  The Roughnecks are one of 24 clubs who compete in the USL Pro league.

Brewster was one of the first two official player signings in the organization’s history, as the Roughnecks enter their inaugural season in USL Pro.

Playing two seasons for the Phantoms, Brewster captained the 2014 squad while leading them in posting a record of 11-1-2 on their way to capturing the Northeast Regular Season Championship in the Premier Development League.  Brewster was at the heart of a defense that proved extremely difficult to break down, as the Phantoms posted a league-best 8 shutouts.

The Cape Elizabeth, Maine native is a graduate of Bowdoin College, and one of only 7 Division III players to be eligible for the 2014 MLS Draft.  Brewster was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year following his freshman season for the Polar Bears.  The defender earned second team All-Conference honors after his sophomore year and first team All-Conference honors after each of his final two seasons.  He was also named First Team All-New England following his junior and senior season, and earned NSCAA First Team All-American accolades as a senior.
