Grant Claims PDLs Golden Boot and Scoring Title

July 21, 2015

HAMPTON, NH - Seacoast United Phantoms Striker Anthony Grant has claimed the Premier Development League’s 2015 Golden Boot and Scoring Title as the league’s regular season honors were announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Grant finished the regular season with 12 goals and 4 assists for 28 points, leading the Phantoms to the playoffs for the second consecutive season. The standout forward has now tallied 27 goals for the Phantoms during the past two seasons.  In 2014, Grant finished 2nd in scoring while earning an All-League selection and being named a 2014 PDL MVP Finalist.

Seacoast United head coach Iain Scott was quick to reply when asked to comment on his star striker.

“We’re delighted,” said Scott.   “Any player who is leading goal scorer two years in a row in any league deserves credit.”

The Phantoms are in action tonight in Yarmouth, ME when they face GPS Portland Phoenix at 7pm.  The winner advances to the semifinals of the Eastern Conference Championship this coming weekend.

The Premier Development League announces its All-Conference Teams on Monday, July 27th, followed by All-League Team on Tuesday, July 28th.  Finalists for Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, and Most Valuable Player will be announced on Wednesday, July 29th.
