HAMPTON, NH – As the club prepares for the 2022 season, the Seacoast United Phantoms are pleased to announced the return of Alex Ryan, Paul Baber and Andrew Pesci for the upcoming season.
In 2021, the Phantoms had a very successful season having qualified for the playoffs and reaching the last 16 in the nation where they eventually lost on penalties. They finished with a record of 10-3-3 and had 11 ex academy players as part of the roster throughout the year.
“We are very excited for the 22’ season and to build on last year’s success. We’ve identified a great set of lads and believe we have everything in place to make this year even better.” said Head Coach Alex Ryan.
He also went onto say, “Last year was a great building block in terms of the culture of the program and the success both on and off the field. We hope to attract more families and fans from the area to games and showcase some top local, and international collegiate athletes.”
The Phantoms will once again base themselves at the home of Seacoast United, Epping NH and commence the season with a home opener on May 22nd against new divisional opponents Vermont Evergreen FC. The complex has a new restaurant and bar named ‘The 101 Grille’ and will help add to the game day experience for fans.
“With the new turf, locker rooms, gym and now the restaurant we have everything in place to create an elite professional environment. The restaurant will allow us to connect even more with the community and generate a better game day atmosphere.” Paul Baber explained.
The Phantoms will look to contend for the Northeast Division but will have strong competition from AC Connecticut, Black Rock (CT), Western MA Pioneers (MA), Boston Bolts (MA), Pathfinder (NY) and newcomers Boston City FC (MA), Vermont Evergreen FC (VT) and Blackwatch Rush (NY).
