Simmond Provides Punch as Phantoms Top Vermont 1-0

June 12, 2014

PORTSMOUTH, NH - Andre Simmond provided the lone goal in Thursday's PDL match between the Seacoast United Phantoms and Vermont Voltage, as the home team earned another 3 points in the Northeast Division standings.

Scored in the 36th minute, Simmond's goal proved enough as the Phantoms once again held strong defensively.  Goalkeeper Dominic Dimaggio earned the shutout.

The win is Seacoast's 2nd in as many games, with a record of 2 wins and 2 draws in their last 4 matches.  During that span, the Phantoms have moved into a tie for 2nd place in the division with 11 points.

Striker Anthony Grant was recognized this week by the Premier Development League, being named to the PDL Team of the Week for his 4-goal performance vs. GPS Portland Phoenix on Sunday.

The Phantoms hit the road this weekend, visiting Real Boston Rams (MA) on Saturday night for a 6:30pm kickoff.  Real Boston has won each of their last 2 games by the score of 1-0 and currently sit in 1st place within the division with 12 points.
