Seacoast Uniteds support of local area soccer programs extends beyond player programs by working directly with parent volunteers. SUSCs support of parent volunteers can take many shapes but is most often via volunteer coach education sessions. Created to help educate parent volunteer coaches, these sessions build more confident coaches. Each session is 1.5 hours comprised of some classroom type discussion Q&A followed by on-field exercises. This on-field experience is a huge learning tool for volunteer coaches because the SUSC instructor will address the group as if they are the age of player theyll eventually be coaching. Volunteers will experience the same thought processes and experiences they hope to share with their own players. This understanding is invaluable to understanding how information should be approached and disseminated by players.
