Seacoast United North will offer its Grassroots/Early Development Program beginning late April! This program will run for 8 weeks and is open to any child ages 8-12 yrs (2010-2007 birth years) looking to further their development in the game of soccer!
Coach Jim Copenhaver and his assistants will run the program for players in 4th-6th grade who wish to play soccer and learn new skills. The program is offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings from 5-6:30pm at The Nick. Registered players can play 3 days per week, or just when they are free to attend. No attendance is taken.
Seacoast United recognizes that the more kids play soccer, the better they get!
Each session introduces several new skills and tactics for the players to experience and discuss. Small sided games and group activities will be used to introduce and test out these new skills and new ideas. Players will be engaged in this learning process and will enjoy the opportunity to share with their teammates their ideas and experiences. This experimenting of the skills & idea sharing is what makes this Grassroots program fertile ground for exceptional and quick skill development!
Developmentally appropriate technical and tactic skills will be introduced by both players and coaches. Players will be given opportunities to try out these skills in a fun environment where experimentation and learning are supported. The last 45 minutes of every session will be several short 10 minute small sided games where all players are brought together after each game for a drink of water and to discuss their successes and failures. As a coach these are the most interesting moments of the training sessions. The process of learning is fun and engaging for their powerful and creative minds.
All classes take place at The Nick, 10 Trotting Track Rd., Wolfeboro NH 03894.
