Both Seacoast United teams advanced to the final match within their age divisions after winning their group to advance within the playoff round.  In group play throughout the week, U16 girls defeated Strictly Soccer Selects (FL) 2-1, lost 0-2 to Fire Juniors Elite (IL) in their second match, and won their 3rd game 4-2 over North Atlanta Elite (GA).  The U17’s saw two wins and a tie in their three preliminary matches, defeating OCYS (FL) 3-1, North Shore United (WI) 4-2, and played to a 1-1 draw vs. Lake Norman Elite (NC).

“We played well in all four games against quality competition from all over the country,” commented U16 head coach David Burgess, who has captured his 2nd Disney Showcase title.  “It was a great weekend for the girls with exposure to hundreds of college coaches in attendance.”

The recent victory gives the 16’s back to back showcase tournament wins, with the earlier accomplishment coming over Thanksgiving weekend at the NEWSS Showcase in Long Island, NY.

The U17's are coached by Ian Burgess.  The championship is their second consecutive Disney Showcase tournament title, winning the event last year as U16's.
