It is with great pleasure to welcome Madison Thompson into the Seacoast United family as the new Assistant Director of Operations for the Seacoast United Field Hockey Club (Essex), MA location.  Madi is a native of Waterloo, Canada where she grew up as a multisport athlete, participating in travel ice hockey, soccer and field hockey.  Although she was passionate about each of these sports, Madi chose to pursue a collegiate career in field hockey at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.  Throughout her time at Kent State, Madi was extremely successful in the classroom as well as on the field hockey field.  She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science in Sports Administration and achieved many accolades while she was a four year starter and a three year captain for the Golden Flashes.  Madi was a four time All-Conference Player for the Mid-American Conference and a two year All-Regional selection.  She finished her college career by being named the MAC Tournament MVP as well as being selected for the NFHCA D1 Senior Game.

Currently, Madi is a full-time athlete for the Canadian National Indoor Team.  She was a member of the 2014 Pan American Cup championship team, as well as the leading scorer for Canada at the 2015 Indoor World Cup in Leipzig, Germany.  Madi is extremely excited to elevate the level of indoor training for the Seacoast United Field Hockey Club by sharing her vast knowledge of the sport to all athletes within the program.

After graduating from Kent State, Madi decided that she would like to continue playing field hockey overseas in Den Haag, Netherlands.  While in the Netherlands, Madi played for HBS-Crayenhout, Dames 1 and was also involved in coaching all age groups (5 years old to 17 years old).  She also was a head coach for the MD2 which was the top tier 10 year old athletes from the club.  After spending a year in the Netherlands, Madi returned to the US to attend Merrimack College, where she received her Masters in Exercise and Sport Science in the spring of 2019.
