If you love field hockey, and aspire to play field hockey at the collegiate level, then you probably spent your Thanksgiving at the Shooting Star Tournament in Richmond, VA. Although this tournament has only been around for a few years, it has quickly become one of the most popular college recruiting showcases in the country.

This year Seacoast United was represented by four teams, two teams (U16 & U19) from its NH location and two teams (U16 & U19) from its MA location. Although the travel home was a bit rocky due to the lovely New England Weather, these teams had an amazing showing at the tournament. Both U19 teams won their pool for the first time in program history, and the U16 teams competed against some of the top clubs in the country and held their own!  Seacoast United coaches were so excited to see all of their hard work and preparation pay off, as their players showcased their skills to hundreds of college coaches from all across the country.

Although this tournament is always over a Holiday weekend, SUFH feels that attending a tournament of this caliber and exposing its players to top notch competition and college coach visibility is extremely important. This tournament officially ends the outdoor season, and we can’t wait for indoor to begin. Let the hard work continue in preparation for the National Indoor Qualifiers next month. GO SEACOAST!
