Seacoast United Essex Field Hockey Club’s director Leah Boody-Simpson is pleased to announce that one of its U16 teams will be heading to Spooky Nook Sports, Lancaster, PA where it will be competing in USA Field Hockey’s National Indoor Tournament.  The U16 tournament will take place from February 17 to 19, 2017.  In order to participate in this tournament, the team was first required to travel to Brown University, one of fourteen sites, to compete in the qualifying round of the tournament.   Seacoast United Essex, coached by Jennifer Richardson, placed sixth out of the eight teams that will be moving on to the National Indoor Tournament.  The players will have an opportunity to compete against standout indoor teams from all over the country.  This tournament also serves as a recruiting opportunity forum for college coaches.

On March 3 to 5, 2017, one of Seacoast United Essex Field Hockey Club’s U14 teams, coached by Christine Zubkus, will also travel to Spooky Nook Sports to participate in the U14 National Indoor Tournament.  Over 100 teams will be in attendance to this tournament, providing excellent competition for our players.

This is the first year that Seacoast United Essex Field Hockey Club has trained its players for true indoor field hockey competition.  It is a means to fine tune a player’s skills in an environment that is fast-paced and strategically oriented.

Good luck to both our U16 and U14 teams!  Stay tuned for the results of these two important tournaments!
