Seacoast United Field Hockey is extremely excited to be sending 8 teams to the National Indoor Tournament this year. The 8 teams will be two U12 teams, two U14 teams, two U16 teams and two U19 teams.

This is the first year the club has sent teams at the U12 level, which is a testament to how far the program has evolved in recent years. The National Indoor Tournament will begin Friday February 14th, with the U14 age groups in Lancaster, PA. Coaches Melissa Nawn and Caitlyn Mitchell will be there to kick things off, and are really looking forward to seeing how the teams compete against some of the top talent in the country.

The following week (February 21st-23rd) the U12 and U19 teams will compete with coaches Erin Crossman, Courtney Grasso, Leah Simpson and Madi Thompson, followed by the U16 teams (February 28th- March 1st) with coaches Sarah Michaud, Jessi Paul and Melissa Nawn.

Seacoast United Field Hockey has put a lot of energy and time into the indoor aspect of the sport and it has certainly paid dividends of late. Adding Madi Thompson’s experience to the coaching staff in addition to all of the other staff members putting emphasis on the fundamentals of the game has seen the indoor curriculum grow significantly.

“The recent success of our teams across the board shows that we are doing the right thing,” said Field Hockey Club Director Sarah Michaud. “We really want to develop every part of the players’ game and the indoor piece is something we have really invested in this season.” Sarah went on to say, “We are delighted to be a part of the NITs and can’t wait for our teams to compete against the nation’s best.”
