April 17th, 2011

On Saturday April 16th, the 14U’s played a single game vs. The Lightning Baseball Club out of Danvers Mass. This team plays in the very competitive New England Baseball Alliance. The Lightning team jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning, but great relief pitching by Matt Oppici, Ricky Mulligan, and Loukas Brigham held the visitors at bay. The offense was led by both Spenser Young and Ricky Mulligan with two hits a piece, with Seacoast surging late in the game to take a 8-7 win.
On Sunday, the 14U team had its first divisional double header of the season vs. the Concord Cannons.  In the first game, Seacoast lost 6-5 after jumping out to a 4-0 lead. Both Matt Oppici and Loukas Brigham pitched well, the offense was led by Henrik Barbin and Mike McAuliffe with two hits a piece. Mike McAuliffe hit his first home run of the season in the loss. In the second game, Seacoast’s offense and defense were both clicking as they took the second game of the doubleheader 7-3. Matt Bozek, Brigham, Oppici, and Barbin all pitched well in the win.  Brigham had three hits to lead the team’s 11 hit effort.

The 11U's and 12U's games were cancelled due to field conditions.
