Seacoast United Announces 2011 Taste of English Football Trips

Due to the success of prior trips, and in particular the 2010 event, Seacoast United will offer two Taste of English Football trips in 2011!  Each trip features two English Premier League matches and a trip to Oxford to see Oxford United in their home stadium.

These trips are put together by Seacoast United staff in an effort to save families money.  Because of flights and match tickets, it is imperative to respond by October 15th if you have any interest at all.  All trips are chaperoned by Seacoast United Staff. 

Trip #1:  January 28th - February 3rd, 2011

Trip #2:  March 3rd - March 9th, 2011

Trip #1:  Friday, January 28th - Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Depart:  Boston/Logan International - Friday January 28th - Virgin Atlantic 7:40pm
Arrive:  London/Heathrow - Saturday January 29th - 7am

Upon arrival in Heathrow, you will travel via coach to Oxford for the beginning of your 6 day/5 night visit.

Saturday Arrive at the Oxford hotel early morning and check-in.  We will probably have to put bags in hold until check-in later that day.  The hotel will have advance notification of our early arrival.  Game #1:  Division 2 match between SUSC’s adopted English Club Oxford United vs. Stevenage.  Kick-off at 3pm.  Includes tour of stadium, lunch prior to game and meet some of the players & coaching staff.  Free evening in Oxford.
Sunday Free day in Oxford to see the historic sites including the famous colleges or travel to the likes of Woodstock to see Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
Monday Depart Oxford in the morning via coach for inner city London where you will spend 3 nights in a London hotel.  Monday is a free day to take in the city sights via tube or open top bus tour.  In the past, many visitors have taken in a show in London’s theatre district.
Tuesday Free day in London or travel further by train to various sites.  Later that day, travel by tube for Game #2:  EPL match Arsenal vs. Everton at the Emirates Stadium.  Kick-off at 7:45pm.
Wednesday Free day in London or travel further by train to various sites.  Later that day, travel by tube for Game #3:  EPL match Fulham vs. Newcastle United at Craven Cottage.  Kick-off at 8pm.
Thursday Free morning in London before departing for airport.  Afternoon flight will get us back in Boston on Thursday afternoon.

Depart:  London/Heathrow - Thursday February 3rd - Virgin Atlantic 2:20pm
Arrive:  Boston/Logan International - Thursday February 3rd - 4:30pm

Trip #1 Cost:  $1675 (per person, including airfare)
Price includes round-trip airfare, five nights’ accommodation (double occupancy), tickets to three football games, luxury coach transportation to and from Oxford, lunch prior to Oxford game, Gift & Program Souvenir per family, London Underground tube passes.

 

Trip #2:  Thursday, March 3rd - Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Depart:  Boston/Logan International - Thursday, March 3rd - Virgin Atlantic 7:40pm
Arrive:  London/Heathrow - Friday, March 4th - 7am

Upon arrival in Heathrow, you will travel via tube to Central London for the beginning of your 6 day/5 night visit.

Friday Arrive at the hotel early morning and check-in.  We will probably have to put bags in hold until check-in later that day.  The hotel will have advance notification of our early arrival.  Free day in London to sightsee and possibly take in a show in the evening.
Saturday Game #1: (one of the following three) West Ham v Stoke City at Upton Park; Arsenal v Sunderland at Emirates Stadium; Fulham v Blackburn at Craven Cottage.  Kick-off at 3pm.  Free morning & evening in London.
Sunday Game #2: Waiting on EPL schedule to come out as to the Sunday afternoon games.  Free morning & evening in London.
Monday Free day in London or travel further by train to various sites.  The potential exists that Game #2 could be Monday night in London as we are still waiting on the EPL schedule.
Tuesday Travel by coach to spend the day in historic Oxford before heading to stadium for evening game.  Game #3: Take in the Division 2 game Oxford United v Cheltenham at Kassam Stadium.  Kick-off at 7:45pm.  Includes tour of stadium, dinner prior to game and meet some of the players and coaching staff.  Return to London following the game.
Wednesday Free morning in London before departing for airport.  Afternoon flight will get us back in Boston on Wednesday afternoon.

Arrive:  Boston/Logan International - Wednesday March 9th - 4:30pm
